Fees, simply
HopeOrigins charges a small platform fee on successful donations to keep the lights on. Everything else — gateway costs included — is on us. Petitions are always free to run and sign.
A worked example
Here's what happens on a R 1 000.00 donation at today's rates.

- Platform fee (5%)

- Net to the cause
- R 950.00
- Optional tip to HopeOrigins (5% default)
- + R 50.00
- Total charged to the donor
- R 1 050.00
The tip is entirely optional and donors can change or remove it before paying. A cause's organiser may qualify for a reduced or waived fee — for example, registered charities — which is reviewed case by case.
